Chris Scott est le propriétaire de L&D Retrieving à Henderson, Tennessee. Il forme et participe aux tests de chasse AKC et UKC depuis plus de 20 ans. Il a entraîné des milliers de retrievers et en a fait obtenir des titres à des centaines. En 2014, il a construit un nouveau chenil de 3000 pieds carrés. Le chenil est équipé de boxes Mason et bénéficie d'un contrôle de température. Son exploitation s'étend sur 400 acres avec un étang technique pour l'eau et des étangs naturels. Il effectue lui-même la formation de tous les chiens, des jeunes aux plus âgés. Il les forme dès la base, sans assistants dresseurs. Il utilise les colliers SportDOG depuis des années.
